LATE BLOOMERS
“Late Bloomers” is a series of photographs that explore the concept of beauty in confrontation with the aging process. How can getting older Fit into the canons of beauty? What is inner beauty and can it be independent of aging? Can you be beautiful no matter how old you are? Is your beauty only connected to your body? What events make your body and mind wither? When is it too late to bloom? In this series I want to tackle what is stereotypically seen as unworthy, ugly and/or doomed to fail. Using wilted or withered flowers and plants, I seek to make them bloom again while challenging conventional thinking and pitfalls.
